Union Street Playground

We took Noah to the playground to get some energy out of the boy.  We didnt' realize that he could suddenly climb the bars and nets well, very well.  He had fun and of course was unhappy when we left, but here are some of the highlights.

Owen's Birthday Party

On Memorial Day, Noah's best friend, Owen, turned 2!  Owen had a party with a Sesame Street theme and a Cookie Monster cake, it was pretty neat looking.  Noah did pretty well with Owen getting all the presents so long as he got to play with them too.  Owen got a pirate ship water table for his birthday, both him and Noah thought that was awesome.  All the pictures here I completely stole from Owen's Mom, as I forgot my camera.

Noah still hates cake, his words were "ew"

Randoms in New Mexico

Here's just a few random shots out in New Mexico.

White Sands National Monument

One of the days we were in New Mexico we drove over to White Sands.  In case you're wondering, it's just a lot of white sand (actually it's gypsum).  No trees.  Not many shrubs. Nothing.  It actually looks like you're in the Antarctic, other than the blistering heat reflecting off the sand.  We wore SPF 50, yet started to burn in 20 minutes.  The sand itself is pretty cool, as it reflected all the heat.  You can sled down the dunes as well, which Noah did a few times.  After I crashed on hard packed sand, I gave up.

Albuquerque Botanical Gardens

After the aquarium, Jared and I took Noah over to the botanical gardens next door.  It was the perfect size for someone Noah's age, not too long!  The children's section of the garden was amazing, to say the least.  They made you feel like you were shrunk down to earthworm size for a good section of the place, where you would go through areas as though you were really that small.  It was great.  One of the sections had a giant pumpkin you walked through, complete with seeds hanging!  Noah really liked it there. They also had a butterfly house, but we missed it opening by a week.  At the pond, Noah spotted the largest frog I've ever seen.  Of course, Noah made ME touch it.  What a kid!

Albuquerque Aquarium

On Saturday we went to the Albuquerque Aquarium, and Noah loved it.  We were the first ones in, and we basically had the entire aquarium to ourselves for 30 minutes, how I do not know.  My only guess is that we didn't listen to the ticket seller and just went in.  They had a a ton of stingrays, which Noah seemed to like the most.  They had a giant coral tank, and a really big shark tank.  It was great for kids Noah's size.

Caballo

Noah loves staying at his grandparents house in Caballo, NM.  Mostly because it's on a lake.  He loves to go down to the lake and throw tons of rocks.  When he gets tired of that he gets to go on a golf cart ride, or throw rubber ducks into the hot tub.
