Noah got to have his first airplane trip on May 16th. He was so excited at the airport watching all the airplanes. We were seated in the very last seats. I was worried about his ears popping, or him crying. Well, while we were speeding down the runway for take-off, Noah passed out cold and slept the entire 2.5 hour trip to Dallas except for the final 5 minutes. When he woke up, I told him we were about to land, and he jumped up and yelled "YAY!!!!". He did pretty well on his second airplane ride too, and even during the 2 hour layover in Dallas.

Kalamazoo Nature Center
After we visited with the ducks, we headed over to Kalamazoo to go to their nature center. As usual, Noah had a blast. This trip he could finally go outside since there wasn't snow. He found a chipmunk, saw a water snake, and lots of fish. When he got home, he went to bed at 6:30. He had a loooong day.
Kellogg Bird Sanctuary
Since Noah loves ducks, we took him over to Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. You can buy food to give the ducks and geese while you walked around. We bought 2 buckets thinking that Noah could carry one with a little food and we would replenish his bucket as needed. Yeah, didn't work. Noah wanted to carry both the buckets the whole time. He loved throwing food to them, but he kept running after them trying to pet them. They weren't too appreciative.

Playdate
Noah was invited over to Owen's for a Friday night playdate. They played outside for a while, then went inside. They had fun running and being terrors. Noah really liked the guitar that played music and Owen lured "Kiki Momma" into reading for him. Then they crashed and the parents had an exciting night watching Dateline. Yes, Dateline.

Butterflies in the Gardens
Marci went with us to the MSU Butterfly Garden and the 4-H Children's Garden at MSU, one of Noah's favorite places. It was Noah's first time in the Butterfly Garden, but Noah always loves the 4-H Gardens. Noah thought the butterflies landing on him were pretty fun at first, but then he wasn't so sure about it. He was so gentle with the butterflies!
After the butterflies we went outside to the mud-filled Children's Garden. Noah thought the maze filled with mud was spectacular, and was pretty upset when I made him stop jumping through the mud puddle repeatedly.

Binder Park Zoo
Last week I took Noah to Battle Creek to visit Binder Park Zoo. I had high hopes for feeding the giraffes, but they were uncooperative this time too. Noah really liked the petting zoo area where he could touch the animals, specifically the rabbit (which he kissed) and the inanimate objects like the statues of the cow and the llama.
We took the tram to the other side of the park to the Africa section. Noah LOVED the tram ride, he considered a train ride, and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. He seemed to enjoy the monkeys the most out of all the animals, as well as the ostrich (why I don't know). All in all, a great day with the boy!

Isle of Palms Beach Trips
While on the Isle of Palms we went to the beach, everyday. Sometimes twice. Noah loved it. We found a lot of crabs, dead jellyfish, and one really big starfish!!!! I think I was more excited by that than the kids were.
Noah loved running in and out of the water, although the waves weren't a real favorite of his. He preferred to be on the safe side and play in the tidal pools left behind by the receding tides. Everyday, Noah and Owen would get packed up into the wagon and hauled off to the beach (let me tell you how hard it is to pull a wagon through sand).
Noah and Owen were pretty much together non-stop for a week, and they both seemed to really like having the other around all the time, I wish they could go to the beach everyday because it was such fun to watch them both playing in the water. Here's some of my favorite pictures from the beach.
