Manipulation

I am pretty sure Noah has a good idea of "cause and effect" now.  If he cries at night, I go get him.  Sheer tiredness causes me to fall asleep.  He used to only cry first thing in the morning when he was hungry, however lately he has begun waking up at midnight to 1am and wanting me.  I fed him last night and tried to put him back.  He woke up 10 minutes later.  He's not hungry, he wants into Mom's bed. But really, would you rather sleep in a warm, soft, cuddly bed with Mom or sleep alone. Sleep alone on a firm mattress with minimal blankets and no Mom. :(  I am being manipulated.

As I was eating breakfast the other morning, I had a cup of coffee.  Noah kept reaching for it, but we put it out of reach and told him "no".  As soon as I got up to put the dish in the sink and passed by him, he lunged at my coffee.  Ryan almost dropped him.  I think he also knows when he isn't supposed to do something.  Little twirp!

Noah is eating more food at this point, though he still doesn't seem to care much for the veggies yet.  I've tried, I started those first, and he just didn't care for them.  He prefers fruit, but even then, you can tell he  doesn't care too much.  This was the case until I started adding cinnamon to his baby food (the applesauce type) and he can't seem to get enough of it.  He LOVES it.

It seems the cold season has made its' rounds at daycare.  Noah had it, then 2 of Anne's kids had it, and lastly, Owen got it.  Poor kids.
loves his red ball

playing nice with Penelope.  He's so gentle.

Noah's first fever :(

Noah had his first fever Sunday night, which of course, required a trip to the doctor the next day to make sure everything was good.  He weighed in at 18lbs. 9.5 oz.!
He loves, loves, LOVES the paper on the table at the doctor's office too.

He also got his first chance at a swing, he seemed to really like it!!!!

Pictures!

We finally took some pictures of Noah.  Mary was kind enough to come and take some pictures for us at a park.  Noah really likes Mary too, and tried his best to cooperate. :)  The pictures went really well....well....except for him falling forward and scraping his head, sneaking a leaf into his mouth and choking on it, and then puking....but yes, otherwise, he loved it!
Yes, he was fascinated by crunchy leaves.

Little Blue Eyes

I'm not going to lie, I always figured my child would have hazel eyes.  I was almost certain of it.  Now that Noah is 5 months old, I somewhat thought his eyes would have started to change colors.  Yes, I know that it could be years before they change, if they ever do.  I just never thought I would have a little boy with such beautiful blue eyes.

My favorite part of the day is morning, when he wakes up and smiles at me. How can you not love that big gummy grin first thing in the morning?  In fact, that's about the only thing I want to see at 5am besides the backside of my eyelids.

Sunglasses

When Noah was about 2 months old, I bought him a pair of baby sunglasses to keep his eyes a little shaded.  I got him a hat too.  He has always liked his hat.  His sunglasses were the cause of much distress and rage.
not a fan.

Now this past week I stuck the glasses back on him, and he didn't mind in the least bit.
now he looks like a mobster.
even bigger fan of Dad's

Teething Wars

It seems Noah has begun teething.  Everything needs to be gummed, especially if it's cooled.  Teething tablets and Tylenol are currently my best friend.  Teething rings are to be refridgerated and kept on hand at all times. Even so, he's been pretty good so far.  He has recently began eating like a horse too.

on the way to West Branch.
It has also become unacceptable to eat/drink in front of him without sharing.  If it's going into your mouth, he better have something going into his.  Last night I tried to drink a glass of water.  As I was drinking the water, Noah face planted into my face, I'm assuming to manuever his way into getting some of that water.  After that, I let him have a drink.  He grabbed the glass with both hands and brought it to his mouth to drink, and he got a little sip.  After the drink he kind of looked at me like "wow, that was cold!".

After being away from home all weekend, Noah was very happy to be back into his normal bedtime routine at home.  He starts to get really cranky when you spend more than 2 nights away from home.  He's pretty good in the car so long as he can see another person, if he can't, it's a miserable drive.

He doesn't like baby food either.  Maybe when I add a little cinnamon, but that's about it.  He wants REAL fruit, in that little mesh sock feeder.  He loves it then.  So far, mango's and a pear have been good.

nom nom nom....

He is also known throughout Eaton Rapids, between Ryan being a teacher and me working from the coffee shop half my pregnancy, EVERYONE seems to know Noah.  Kind of freaks Ryan out when he's walking along and the person passing by says "Hi Noah" and Ryan doesn't have the slightest clue who they are.  The tennis kids and parents really seem to like Noah too.
