6 Month Check-up!

Noah went for his 6 month check-up last night.  He was pretty well-behaved until they made us wait almost an hour....his patience was wearing a little thin by that time.

Vital Stats:
Weight: 19 lbs. 7.5 oz---75th percentile
Height: 26 & 3/4 inches---50th percentile
Head Circumference---90th percentile  (are they telling me he has a melon head?  like his Daddy??)
They did also say his motor skills are advanced for his age...YAY!
As always, he enjoyed his trip to the doctor, mostly because of the awesome crinkly paper on the exam tables.  He didn't so much enjoy the bazillion shots he got for vaccinations.

Autumn Adventures

We took Noah on a dune walk while visiting my side of the family this weekend.  He really seemed to enjoy all the colors and movement.  He's quite the busy body anymore.

The next day we stopped by the dunes again to take him for a short walk before heading home to go to swim lessons.

Amoxicillin

About 2 weeks ago, Noah started a fever.  I took him to urgent care, sat for 4 hours, they found nothing.  The next morning he had a higher fever and took him to his pediatrician.  No big deal.  They gave him amoxicillin.  He was okay for 4 days, then we woke up one morning to a nasty rash everywhere.  Another ER trip to make sure he was okay.  They said it was a reaction to amoxicillin.  They said to just give him Benedryl.  The next day, daycare called and told me the rash seemed to get worse.  Indeed.  At least this trip to the pediatricians office helped, it was a reaction to amoxicillin, but this time prescribed a steroid to help him fight off the rash. Boy, that helped!  Here's some lovely pictures of Noah's rash.

Homecoming, Pumpkins and Swimming

Noah had a really busy weekend.  Friday was Eaton Rapids Homecoming, so we went to a parade, and then the game.  Noah got to play with his buddy Owen before the parade, which he always enjoys.  Noah also got passed around to all his favorite people.  We went to the game, and so many people tired him right out.  We left at halftime and went to the Smith's.  This is where Noah discovered the joys of a walker that looks like a sportscar, and HONKS.  I'm pretty sure that's all he did.  He also was entranced by their television showing some Mickey Mouse treehouse show, or something, I'll have to get the name of that.  Both Noah and Owen loved that show.

Noah the next morning decided that his jumper was in fact for jumping (finally).  He really looked like he was doing the Riverdance, and it was absolutely hysterical to watch.  The next morning he did this, he actually fell asleep while jumping.  He would nod off, and then jump again and wake up, and it was sooooo funhy to watch.

Serious.

Did I mention Noah babbles incessantly??  ALL THE TIME!  Constant babbling, especially if people are talking.  He is not about to be left out of the conversation.

We also got Noah his first pumpkin.  Let him play with the guts, which yes, he did inevitably stick in his mouth....repeatedly.
And lastly, Noah went to his swim lesson.  He was really comfortable in the water, more so than some of the other children there.  He loved the games they would play in the pool.  He kicked when he was supposed to, and splashed.  They also want them to learn that when they jump in, their faces will not stay above water.  So we worked on a little dunking, and he loved that too.  They also wanted them to learn to relax in the floating position, again Noah did awesome!
those legs were kicking the whole time!

I Can Crawl!

Noah has been able to get into the crawl position for a few weeks now.  In the past few days Noah has been able to somewhat crawl.  He's not really proficient at it yet, but he's definitely getting there.  Just last night he was showing us that he can, in fact, move to where he wants to go now.  He still gets pretty frustrated though.

Noah also had an ear infection last week, so the happy, joyous little boy I love disappeared for a day or two, until the antibiotics started to work.  Getting him to take the antibiotics is an acquired talent I have not mastered quite yet.

I've also started giving him some food on his highchair area to "play" with.  Sometimes he'll try to put it in the mouth, most of the time he just enjoys squishing the stuff and splattering me with it.  Oh well.

this is what happens when he watches Elmo.
This weekend we're planning on letting him play with some pumpkin guts to see how he likes that!
